What CoolIT Systems does

CoolIT Systems supplies the server and data-hall portions of a single-phase direct-to-chip loop: processor cold plates, assembled cold-plate loops, rack manifolds, and coolant distribution units. Supplying those pieces together gives a buyer one engineering boundary for flow balance, materials compatibility, quick connections, and heat transfer from the processor to facility water. CoolIT reported a cold plate tested for heat loads up to 4,000 watts, and a row-based CHx2000 distribution unit rated at 2 megawatts. Those are supplier ratings under stated conditions, not guarantees for an arbitrary server fleet or water design. CoolIT says it has shipped more than five million cold plates and deployed at more than 300 data centers; those figures are also company-reported.

Ecolab completed its acquisition of CoolIT in July 2026, adding water chemistry, monitoring, and field expertise to the hardware business. Buyers still need approval for each processor and server model, a complete bill of wetted materials, coolant-quality limits, allowable pressure drop, pump redundancy, leak response, and proof that the quoted capacity holds at the project's temperatures and flow. They should also identify who owns warranty and service across CoolIT, the server maker, and Ecolab.

Public evidence is strong on product scope but does not disclose fleet-wide failure rates, contract terms, or independently verified lifecycle cost.
