What Daikin does
Daikin sells chillers, air handlers, controls, refrigerants, and service for the plant and room. Daikin Applied has also moved closer to the rack. It bought DDC Solutions, which makes dense cooling cabinets, and Chilldyne, which makes a direct-to-chip water loop.
Chilldyne keeps that loop below normal air pressure, so a cut line is meant to draw air in instead of push water out. Its system includes the coolant distribution unit, rack pipes, and cold plates. This wider scope is newer than the links in this profile, which still place Daikin in hybrid and dry cooling with chillers, air handlers, and controls.
Buyers should ask which company will bid: Daikin Industries, a local Daikin Applied unit, or one of the bought firms. The contract must say who owns the result from chip to plant.
