What Motivair does

Motivair supplies several links between information-technology equipment and the cooling plant. Its range includes direct-to-chip cold plates, coolant distribution units, ChilledDoor active rear-door heat exchangers, chillers, and service. The linked ChilledDoor is the clearest retrofit example: it replaces a rack's rear door and transfers server exhaust heat into a liquid loop without requiring cold plates inside each server.

For direct-to-chip projects, Motivair can instead provide the distribution equipment that controls the technology coolant loop. This span is useful when a buyer wants one thermal specialist to coordinate rack heat capture with facility equipment, especially for supercomputing and accelerated-computing systems. Schneider Electric acquired a controlling interest in 2025, so Motivair now sits within a broader power, controls, and global service portfolio.

Buyers should not treat “end to end” as a substitute for interface design. They still need to verify server and chip approvals, residual air-cooling load, water temperatures, condensation controls on rear doors, coolant chemistry, door weight and aisle clearance, redundancy, and the exact service organization available at the site. The ChilledDoor relationship proves an available rear-door product; it does not by itself validate a direct-to-chip design.
