What is the Chilldyne CF-CDU300?
Most coolant distribution units push fluid into the server loop. The CF-CDU300 pulls it instead, holding the loop under vacuum so a failed seal draws air inward rather than pushing coolant onto hardware. Chilldyne rates the unit at 300 kW with a 7 degree Celsius approach to facility water, and states a 2 degree approach when the load falls to 200 kW. Maximum secondary flow is 300 liters per minute. Facility water may arrive between 2 and 45 degrees Celsius and leave as warm as 60 degrees, which allows a cooling tower rather than a chiller in many climates. The loop runs at a maximum of 22 inches of mercury of vacuum, driven by a 3 horsepower liquid ring pump, and the primary side requires 100 micron filtration. The cabinet measures 24 by 80 by 45 inches. Capacity here is a function of flow and temperature rise rather than a fixed number, and Chilldyne says so plainly: the same unit reaches a higher figure with colder water and a wider rise, and a lower one with warm water and a narrow rise. Ask for a selection at the site's own water temperature and permitted rise, the behaviour of the vacuum loop during a power interruption, and the cold-plate range approved for the intended processors. Daikin Applied acquired Chilldyne in November 2025, so confirm which entity signs the warranty.
