What is the STULZ CyberCool CMU?
The CyberCool CMU is STULZ's first liquid cooling product, from a company known for room air conditioning. The unit isolates facility water from the technology cooling loop and controls the temperature and flow delivered to the racks. STULZ publishes a rated heat exchange of 345 to 1,380 kW across two model sizes, at a rated facility-water supply of 32 degrees Celsius and a technology loop supply of 36 degrees. Those two temperatures are the useful part of the rating, because a capacity quoted without them cannot be compared. The 32 degree figure also places the unit in the warm-water classes, so a chiller with free cooling can run in economiser mode for most of the year in temperate climates. The smaller cabinet is 600 mm wide and weighs 460 kg; the larger is 900 mm wide and weighs 900 kg. Both are 1,200 mm deep and 2,090 mm tall. Components can be reached from the front or the rear and carry shut-off valves on both sides for maintenance. STULZ does not publish the approach temperature, the secondary flow rate, the pressure drop, or the electrical load in this material. Ask for the flow and approach at the site's own water temperature, and for the capacity with one pump out of service.
